Praying for a Cure Pocket
by Yvonne Reitsma

Almost all of our lives have been touched by someone who has had or is battling breast cancer. We also know when faced with this disease that support, encouragement and prayers are so important. This little design is for those people who are dealing with or have survived breast cancer. Stitch up this “prayer pocket” and give it to that special person, including a printed prayer from your heart to theirs. Place a special token or a packet of Forget Me Not seeds for them to plant reminding them that they will not be forgotten in your prayers. Some of the bands have been chosen to represent special meaning. The Roses for beauty and strength; the Forget Me Nots for remembering; the whitework Crosses for prayers; the Hearts for love; the Four Sided Stitch for supportive love; and the Butterfly for life and living after breast cancer. You may want to substitute a satin pink ribbon instead of stitching it. It is my hope and prayer that as you stitch and give this piece it will bring comfort and peace. - Yvonne
