Everyone shares the bond of family and for many people this bond will follow them throughout life. This addition to the Heirloom Sampler series celebrates our Family as a source of love and support. A bountiful and blooming tree, with singing birds and buzzing bees, represents the family tree of life. Further down there are more intricate bands of stitches, a beautiful verse, a petit point alphabet, and a place to personalize your sampler for your own family. For instance, I've included my mother and father's last names on the stitched model I made for the photograph to indicate my birth heritage. There are so many blended families these days and it is sometimes difficult to decide which names might go on a Family Heirloom. Choose first names, or one last name, your grandparents' names or perhaps add your own name as the stitcher of this family piece. whatever suits you is fine! This sampler would make a wonderful gift for your parents, or a new member of your family, a housewarming gift or for a special couple for their Anniversary! Included in this leaflet you will find a separate "Family Memories Box" design, which will fit into a 5" x 7" opening in a frame, or on a box top to keep your Family Treasures! A flourishing Family' Tree of Life' blooming with leaves and fruiting hearts, as well as colourful birds, bees and bunnies, all symbolize love and fertility. These symbols decorate the top of a memory box for your most precious Family Treasures. Reminiscent of old family boxes from the 18th century, this velvet lined box is the perfect elegant receptacle to hold your grandmother's gold locket, your father's watch, some pictures, your marriage license, or mementoes and souvenirs of your family's past. You can now keep those tiny teeth or charming soft locks of your baby's hair and remember their smiles forever! Use the separate chart inside this leaflet to stitch the Family Tree of Life, including the words provided or your own, and finish as a Memory or Treasures Box.
