About your
Gingerbread Tree Etui
Project
The “Gingerbread
Tree Etui” is is the perfect yummy companion to last year's publication
(#110 Gingerbread Stitching House),
as well as Thea's newest (#129
Gingerbread Church) This exclusive new addition is a delicious four-sided tree, trimmed with button
and bead candies, fully lined and decorated with white ‘icing sugar’ snow. It is
stitched on Gingerbread coloured linen, with delectable silk flosses, beads, silks,
multicoloured beads and buttons for candy tree decorations. We have added a snowy
ribbon at the top to close the front, and the other three sides are stitched together
with overcase snowy white icing stitches.
Each side has a different scene..
two stitchers working on their Christmas projects near a
warm fire, a little Christmas town with a wee snowman, a tiny horse pulling
a sleigh through the snow, and finally, Santa crossing the skies over a little harbour
town. When you undo the ribbons at the
top, you see a decorated Gingerbread
Pincushion nestled inside! Sooo cute! We have also added some optional floss rings
and some elasticized bands made of lining fabric to hold packages of needles or
thread. Finally, there is a fully decorated scissors case attached to the lining
of the front piece.
For this learning design, you will learn and practice Spider Web Roses, Bullion
Knots, Silk Ribbon Roses, Lazy Daisies, Herring-bone, Rhodes Stitches, and excellent
in depth instructions on Finishing the tree! Lisa's directions, and Thea's colour photos will make finishing
beautiful and easy for you. You can set your new Gingerbread
Tree Etui on the mantle with your Gingerbread Stitching House which you stitched
last year, you can display them both as a centerpieces for your Christmas table,
or set them beside your Stitching Chair to add some extra Christmas Cheer to the
Season.. Getting excited?
Level -
Intermediate (should be familiar with working on even weave linen and want to learn some free form embroidery
in a safe and counted environment)
